That was the findings of a new survey by the Chartered Management Institute into green management.
A survey of 1,500 managers conducted by the CMI shows that most, and particularly junior and younger, managers are being held back in terms of being more ‘green’ by scepticism at director and senior management-level.
There is a lack of leadership in promoting change. 82% of managers regard senior management commitment as the most important driver of environmental practices but more than half of directors are ‘climate change cynics’.
