A couple of girls at work (who shall remain nameless) are currently undergoing the latest trendy diet. The diet seems to involve gorging on one particular food type at any one time. So protein might be allowed one week, carbohydrates the next, and so on. Suffice to say I'm not sold on any of these (often expensive) diets, so it's refreshing to read today about a chap undertaking an experiment to show just what simple exercise and good diet can achieve.
Personal trainer Drew Manning deliberately piled on an extra 70 pounds by trading his usual balanced diet for junk food. Manning plans to shed the weight as quickly as he can to demonstrate that it's possible to lose weight through diet and exercise. "Part of me fears it will be hard to curb some of my addictions," he says. "I keep a bottle of Mountain Dew and a bag of Cap'n Crunch under the bed."
You can see his 'before and after' pictures below. I'll be interesting to see how he goes.
A lot of women must be a marketing mans dream. Losing weight isn't rocket science. Burn off more than you consume and you'll lose weight. Simple!
I've been putting on weight too, just for an experiment you understand lol
This will be interesting. I don't have time for sanctimonious fitness instructors who tell everyone how easy it is to be fit without ever knowing what it's like to be in someone else's situation.
I am glad to visit your blog.. I found this post is really useful one.. I love reading this kind of stuff. Your blog is one of a kind, i love the way you organize the topics.
Those two photos are really amazing – staying in shape is hard work, but then nothing worthwhile doing in life is easy to achieve!
Wow! Even in my youth when I trained very hard I never got that good! I guess the beer kept a layer of fat over me!

I love this post. Fad diets are often expensive and there's no guarantee that they will surely work. What's there not to like about regular exercise and healthy eating to lose weight? It could be because they results don't surface immediately but when you think of the benefits, you should be able to realize that it's all worth it. The pounds you lost won't creep back in which is likely to happen if your way of losing weight is by following a fad diet.

It's amazing with the right fat loss plan and the will to do it, what can truly be achieved as this guy sems to have done it.
Interesting post and as you say, the food is extremely important when to lose weight!
