Christmas is a great time of year for the children in our lives. Spending so much time with youngsters is a wonderful chance to reconnect with our inquisitive selves. If you go out with a child you're usually overwhelmed by questions on how such and such works or why something is the way it is. This interest in the world around them is addictive but it is sadly a trait many of us lose when we reach adulthood.
It's something we can all do more of in the coming year. It's one thing to learn from how the best people do things via a book or a blog or a YouTube video, but quite another again to actually learn from the great people we encounter in our actual lives. Yet so often our questioning in such circumstances is limited to small talk about the weather or X-Factor (other reality shows may apply).
Don't waste this opportunity to really delve into what makes that person great at their job. Don't let shyness overcome you or think that by asking a question somehow betrays your ignorance or lack of knowledge. Use this quiet time between Christmas and the new year to think up some fantastic questions so that next time you have the chance, you'll have the chance to learn something new.
check out the thread HBR blog on asking questions too.
Is that this one David?

I don't normally ask question.. not sure why but I have a fear of asking question.. but these past few months I'm trying to at least ask once in a while. i always try to tell myself that if i dont ask I wont get the answer and i wont be able to learn something new..
