Earlier this week I wrote about a recent study that explored the kind of people that are attracted to a start-up, and their relative value to that venture.
The study found that whilst many people are looking to leave university and start up on their own, it is equally common for people to leave and join an existing start-up in some way.
The study labeled such individuals as ‘joiners’ and suggested that they are just as important to the success of a start-up as the founders.
Finding joiners
Of course, the challenge then becomes finding such people to join your venture. Ambition Trek may be a tool that can offer up some assistance.
It allows the entrepreneur to share the journey they have been on to get their venture to its current state. It also allows entrepreneurs to spread ideas and hopefully attract interested parties to them, be they ‘joiners’ or investors (but hopefully not rivals looking to pinch your idea!).
Users create a profile on the site and are encouraged to make regular updates about their journey, including both successes and failures. The hope is that in addition to attracting joiners, it also provides a community of more informal support too.
The site is currently in beta mode and the founders are actively looking for entrepreneurs who are happy to chart their story on the site.
Interesting concept, I'll check that out. Thanks for sharing.
