Searching for a job can be an incredibly time-consuming process, especially if you’re already in a job and somehow have to find the time to sneakily update your CV, search for new positions, send off tailored applications and so on.
Given the difficulties this represents, it’s perhaps a surprise that there hasn’t been any company offering to help job seekers with this task. Stepping into this breach is Mentat, a service that aims to do all of the legwork for job-seekers.
Job support
They have an army of career advisors that aim to support job seekers with everything from polishing their CV to providing a customizable cover letter for each application.
Customers start the process by having a consultation with an advisor whereby they explain both their current situation and the new direction they hope to go in. Interestingly, this initial analysis is largely automated, with their AI technology analyzing the text submitted before then allocating the best human advisor to help each client.
Those advisors then run the rule over the CV and LinkedIn profile of the candidate and make suggestions for how things can be improved to meet their needs. Last, but not least, the company will then go to the trouble of customizing the cover letter for each new job that the applicant applies for.
Suffice to say, the proof of the pudding is very much in the eating, and the service will live or die based upon the quality of support given to the job seeker, but in a time where we are increasingly hopping between jobs and assignments on a regular basis, it is certainly filling a gap in the market.
