The broad theme of the lectures I’m signposting this Christmas is around the reality of AI today. The first lecture featured a discussion from Rodney Brooks on what AI and robotics can and cannot do.
The second in the series features Professor Tom Davenport, cofounder of the International Institute for Analytics, a fellow of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy, and a senior advisor to Deloitte Analytics.
He recently published a book, called The Sentient Enterprise, which analyzed 160 real-life AI projects from companies around the world to explore just what AI was doing today. His research identified three core types of applications, but I won’t spoil things by revealing what they are. Instead, watch his discussion of his findings below.
