As the number of startups, patents and academic papers mushrooms, it can be challenging to keep on top of the innovation happening around the world. The European Commission have recently launched a new data-driven online tool to try and help.
The tool, called the Innovation Radar, aims to provide a one-stop shop for finding all innovations currently supported by EU funding. Whether you’re a citizen, an official or an innovation manager the tool hopes to provide access to some of the hottest startups in Europe.
The idea is that it won’t just be a database of startups but also act as a broker between the innovators and partners to help the startups grow and get to market.
“Europe has a great track record in developing new technologies and EU funding plays a major role. With the Innovation Radar we are launching today we not only want to showcase EU-funded innovations but also help innovators in key technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity connect to other entrepreneurs and businesses, investors, incubators and accelerators to speed up their market entry and growth. I invite everyone to have a look at the exciting innovations the EU is funding,” the team say.
So far the tool has data from 17 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Norway.
The Innovation Radar tool can be accessed via the web (https://www.innoradar.eu/) or as a Smartphone app (download from the iOS and Android app stores). You can also learn more about the tool via the video below.
