My writing this week

writing this weekHi all.  As usual below are some of the pieces I've written for other sites this week.  They include understanding the importance of time off of social media, interesting user satisfaction rates at Google+ and selfishness in leaders.  Hope you enjoy.

When you should turn off TwitterProfessional Manager magazine – An experiment by the Boston Consulting Group revealed the benefits of unplugging from social media.  Really it was more to do with removing distractions, of whatever kind, but with us increasingly addicted to social media it's a point we could all use reminding of.

Google+ wins the user satisfaction battle – Technorati – Google+ has been pretty roundly battered ever since it was launched, but a new user satisfaction survey found that G+ users were in fact a lot happier with the site than Facebook users were.  Indeed Facebook came bottom of the pile.

Selfishness in leadersThe Management Blog – Research explores how employees feel if their boss is clearly out for themselves.  It found that broadly speaking they don't care, so long as that selfishness doesn't harm their own careers.
